Micro Chipping
A microchip is a safe, simple form of identification that can significantly increase the chance that your pet will return safely. The tiny microchip is about the size and shape of a grain of rice and is placed underneath your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The placement of the microchip does not hurt, and is equivalent to receiving a simple injection.
Individual numbers are registered in the national database. In the occasion that a lost pet arrives at a participating animal shelter or veterinarian clinic, a universal scanner is used to identify the unique encoded number on the implanted microchip. The owner can thus be identified and contacted.
Microchips have been particularly useful in the return of lost pets, and can also assist in pet ownership disputes. Animal shelters and animal control centers benefit using microchip identification products by having the ability to quickly and efficiently return pets to their owners. Pet Haven has been using this technology for many years, and it has repeatedly shown its ability to reunite pets with their loved ones.
