Teeth Cleaning

Dental teeth cleaning, which includes scaling and polishing, is always done under general
anesthesia. You pet’s teeth are cleaned with the same instrumentation that is used for people.
The teeth are cleaned using a piezo ultrasonic unit.

Plaque and calculus that have accumulated both supragingival (above the gum line) and subgingival (below the gum line) are removed. If a subgingival pocket is too deep then it might be necessary to extract the affected tooth. However, in borderline cases we can try to achieve reattachment with the application of Doxirobe Gel. Once the cleaning is completed the teeth are then polished using a low-speed hand piece fitted with a prophy-angle to remove any micro-abrasions.
