Oral Surgery
Oral surgery includes but is not limited to:
- Tooth extractions
- Gingivectomy: resection of excessive gum tissue that is enveloping the teeth
- Biopsy of suspicious tissues in the oral cavity
- Fixation/repair of some types of jaw fractures (usually of the lower jaw). These fractures often occur as a result of weakened bone structure that is consequent to severe periodontal disease.
